so the storm which was kicked off by the remarks of jaya bachchan has now subsided with raj thackeray accepting an apology she tendered in an interview to a newspaper. but it has given rise to a serious question that at first why was this issue focussed upon by the self-styled guardians of marathi asmita(in same tone as gujrati asmita). well the reason is not far to seek as it makes a good case for petty vote-bank politics to make a celebrity bow down before you over a trivial isue.
so no wonder it has provided raj a perfect bow in his regionalism armour. now he will start claiming that no person howsoever big he or she may be will have to show respect to marathi culture.
